  • A permanent height safety system is a fixed solution installed on a building to allow safe access when working at height. These systems include roof anchors, horizontal lifelines, fixed ladders, roof walkways, and AC mount platforms.

Permanent systems reduce risk, eliminate the need for temporary access solutions like scaffolding, and help building owners meet their legal obligations under New Zealand health and safety regulations.

  • If contractors or workers are required to access your roof, you are responsible for ensuring safe access and fall protection. This applies to building owners, property managers, body corporates, and PCBUs.

Permanent height safety systems are often the safest and most cost-effective way to meet compliance requirements while protecting everyone who works at height on your site.

  • Certifix designs, installs, certifies, and maintains complete height safety solutions, including:

    • Roof anchor installations and certifications

    • Horizontal lifeline installations and certifications

    • Fixed ladder access systems

    • Roof walkway systems and AC mount platforms

    • Recertification of existing anchor and lifeline systems

All systems are tailored to your building, roof type, and access requirements.

  • Roof walkways are recommended in areas that require regular access, such as:

    • Routes to plant or mechanical equipment

    • Access to HVAC or AC units

    • High-traffic maintenance areas

Single or double-sided handrails can be added where additional fall protection is required.

  • Yes. We regularly inspect, recertify, and upgrade existing anchors, lifelines, ladders, and walkway systems.

If a system is found to be non-compliant, damaged, or outdated, we’ll clearly explain what needs to be rectified and provide practical, cost-effective recommendations — without unnecessary upselling.

  • Height safety systems require annual inspection and recertification. Regular certification ensures systems remain safe to use, compliant with New Zealand standards, and legally defensible.

Certifix can manage the entire recertification process and remind you before systems are due.

  • Certification includes a visual inspection of all system components, testing where required, and verification that installations meet manufacturer specifications and New Zealand safety standards.

You’ll receive full compliance documentation, including certification reports and photographic records. For ladder and walkway installations, a PS3 Producer Statement is issued upon completion to confirm installation compliance
