Roof Safety and Anchor Installations & Certifications

∙ Overview

What is a Roof Anchor?

A roof anchor is a permanent eyebolt fixed to the roof structure. It allows workers to attach their fall protection equipment, preventing them from falling while working at height.

Why Roof Anchors Matter

Roof anchors keep workers safe while they’re carrying out tasks on the roof — such as maintenance, inspections, or cleaning. They also provide safe access for abseil teams performing façade cleaning or repairs.

∙ Types of Roof Anchors

1.0 Fall Arrest or Fall Restraint

2.0 Abseil — For façade access and maintenance

∙ Where Roof Anchors are used

Roof anchors are required on all types of buildings — both new and existing. Building owners are legally responsible for ensuring that any work at height is carried out safely. While temporary solutions like scaffolding, edge protection or EWP access exist, permanent anchors are often the safer and more cost-effective long-term choice.
